Job Description
Role Purpose:
The Senior Planner is responsible for supporting and enhancing business processes, maximizing profitability and sales, working closely with Buying, Operations and Store Functions. Utilizing merchandising fundamentals to analysis historic performance and build future strategies to achieve and exceed targets set by the business, across regions.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:
Operations
- Conducting seasonal analysis at region/division level, looking at relevant product attributes, pricing, sizing, and segmentation.
- Working closely with Buying teams on developing regional and product strategy, based on historic learnings, including but not limited to setting margin, inflation, attribute targets.
- Working with relevant functions to execute actions based on current product performance trends– stock movements, reductions, additions, trade/marketing activity.
- Present weekly/bi-weekly trade meetings with brands and internal teams, discussing performance, trade activity/fulfilment/action plans required and all other relevant points.
- Establish efficient processes and reporting through use of advanced analytics.
Financial & Standards
- Preparing budgets on sales, open to buy, covers, sell through at category level inclusive of opening/closing stock to support product plans.
- Creating in-season plan, ensuring key KPI’s such as stocks, sales, markdown, covers and margins are met and taking appropriate action to reach and exceed targets.
- Managing markdown and promotion plans for department to effectively clear non- performers, in line to margin and sell through targets.
- Develop and monitor reports to track performance to plan at all levels.
- Managing promotions and markdown activities to ensure healthy full price sell through, in line to target margins.
- Forecast and manage appropriate levels of inventory of NOOS and aged stock.
- Working with Buying teams to prepare monthly business reviews on product and KPI performance.
- Managing the transition and implementation of new planning systems.
Customer
- Manage Brand relationships, focusing on brand monthly/weekly conversations/business updates and requirements.
- Conduct regular store visits, to ensure correct stocks are available in stores, to understand customer requirements and be in tune with region specifics, including competitor knowledge.
- Ability to think critically and drive agile business decisions leading to exceeding business targets.

- Budgeted net margin.

Qualifications / Education
- Graduate degree in a related field preferably Business or Finance.
Experience
- 6+ years in a Planner role.
- Solid understanding of Retail Financial measurements including sales, gross margin, inventory turn etc.
- Experience in a Retail environment is mandatory.
